Recent LTU individual representation successes on behalf of C&G members have shown the impact that LTU can have on the treatment of members working for C&G.
During March alone, charges against two members of C&G staff were dropped altogether following the intervention of LTU’s professional Individual Representation specialists.

Senior Management has announced plans almost certainly meaning that work from C&G’s operation in Segensworth (near Fareham) will eventually be offshored to India.
Next year C&G Staff working at Segensworth will be transferred to work for Lloyds TSB’s Group Operations and Retail Telephony business units. LTU predicts that this will be the first stage of a familiar pattern that eventually results in staff losing their jobs either directly or indirectly as a consequence of work being transferred to India.

Members have been reporting a steady deterioration in the quality of service that C&G customers are receiving from the India Operation.
In fact, despite window dressing by senior management, it is clear that the confidence of staff in the service provided from India is hitting a new low.
But most alarming of all, rather than reigning back its Offshoring Policy in recognition of the damage it is inflicting on the business, senior management remains committed to transferring even more C&G jobs to India.

The announcement that C&G’s Mortgage Application Centre is to close - with 300 jobs being sent to India - has left many staff with a very clear message ... now is the time that C&G staff must be able to count upon professional union representation.
Unless staff are properly represented C&G Senior Management - which is now firmly under the tight control and direction of Lloyds TSB - will be able to pick off staff at will, with little if any objection or resistance.
