C&G Branch Network To Close ... & Major Mortgage Restructure
Date: 9th Jun 2009 | Size: 102K
C&G has today announced that its entire Branch Network will close on 6th November 2009, together with a number of further substantial changes to the Group’s Mortgages operations.

All 928 C&G Branch Network Staff have been issued with letters notifying them that their jobs are at risk of redundancy and that though the Company will take steps to find staff alternative roles, compulsory redundancies will be inevitable.

This announcement has accompanied news that on 1st July the Lloyds Banking Group will be cutting its core intermediary mortgage brands from eight to four; scrapping the Bank of Scotland and Intelligent Finance intermediary brands. This will result in 159 further jobs being made redundant.

This appears to be the final stage of a wholly unacceptable farce, where SMS Staff have been messed around and treated with disregard ever since they were first told that C&G no longer wanted them. C&G must take complete responsibility for this state of affairs

C&G SMS TUPE Transfer: LTU Negotiates Up To Extra £5K For Staff
Date: 17th Dec 2007 | Size: 48K
Over recent months LTU has been in intensive negotiations with C&G Management concerning the Transfer Terms upon which Specialist Mortgage Solutions Staff are being forced to transfer to a new company, Central Trust.

In our last Newsletter, LTU pointed out that only during two previous TUPE Transfers - both affecting C&G Staff (in negotiations in which LTU wasn’t involved) - had worse compensation been offered to staff. And at our last meeting, the Union had been told that an increase in compensation from £100 to £285 had been the Management Teams’ ‘final offer’.

But today - in a major breakthrough in negotiations with C&G Management - LTU has reached agreement on substantially improved compensation for staff.
