Jobs to India – Group Ops to move another 270 jobs in 2005

In March we reported to members that Group Operations had decided not to transfer any further jobs to India this year. We said then that whilst this was good news it did not mean that there was no longer any risk for Group Operations staff from the Bank’s plans. On the contrary, Group Operations had made clear that it was still central to the Bank’s offshoring strategy.
At best therefore it was a stay of execution and our campaign to keep Lloyds TSB jobs in the UK would continue.
Group Operations has now announced that a further 270 jobs will be transferred to India and that, contrary to its undertaking in March, some jobs will go before the end of the year.
