Managerial Mentoring Service
|

Mentoring is not a new phenomenon but it is thought to be one of the best methods to enhance an individuals learning and development in every aspect of their work. At LTU we often deal with Managers whose performance is being criticised but had we been able to intervene much earlier then our Consultants, who between them have over 170 years experience and knowledge of working in the Bank, could have had a positive influence and guided Managerial members around major obstacles and pitfalls, offered them the benefit of their experience and knowledge and improved their results.
LTU's new mentoring service for Managers is a unique interactive development approach that no other trade union in the world offers it members. Our new service will offer the following benefits:
Competence
Through identifying development needs, through action planning and through enabling problem solving mentors can help mentees enhance their competence substantially and because LTU's new service is tailored to the individual needs of Managers, mentoring helps them to acquire knowledge and skills that are directly relevant to their role and will improve performance.
Goal Setting
An LTU Consultant will assist Managerial members to clarify their goals.
Motivation
An LTU Consultant can be a source of motivation and can assist Managerial members in keeping up the momentum and focus in order to achieve their performance/career goals.
Psychological Support
Managing today is difficult enough but an LTU Consultant can act as a confidential sounding board where Managerial members can off load professional and personal worries such as feelings of failure, low self-confidence and anxiety.
Creativity
Bouncing ideas off an LTU Consultant, learning to look at issues/problems from multiple perspectives and acquiring new ways of solving problem all promote the enhancement of creativity.
